Help keep the Major Taylor Trail beautiful & fun
We are grateful to our partners at the Cook County Forest Preserves and Chicago Park District as well as our other partners who help provide upkeep and make it easier for people to find and use our trail.
Your support allows us to present the Major Taylor Trail in a way that both honors Marshall “Major” Taylor’s legacy and provides amenities that will be enjoyed by cyclists on the trail and neighbors all around it.
The Major Taylor Trail Keepers Chicago is committed to sustaining and improving the condition and impact of the Major Taylor Trail. All donations received will be used to:
- Maintain permits
- Cover costs related to maintenance such as supplies for volunteer clean-up days
- Purchase preservation materials for artworks,
- Commission new artworks (like a statue on 111th Street and the wall at 127th Street), and
- Promote trail use
Although the trail is marked “complete” by the city, there is much work to be done. Upkeep and landscaping, new paint, and so much more.
We welcome your investment in maintaining the trail for all of Chicago and beyond! If you have any questions please reach out to the organization via [email protected].
Thank you to our partners :
