On this CAN-TV episode, host Brenda Dixon is joined by Carshena Ross, an attorney and entrepreneur based in Chicago with a thirst for learning and knowledge. Ross is also the owner of the new business at our beloved 111th St. building that honors Marshall ‘Major’ Taylor.
Ross shares her top three pieces of advice for women looking to launch and grow their own enterprise. She explains how she wished she had someone to teach her when she was first getting started, and now in her current position, she can share the things she’s learned and be that person for someone else.
Ross and Dixon also discuss the latest news with the Major Taylor mural at 111th St. Ross is the owner of a new smoothie shop coming soon to the building and understands the importance of this mural as the first piece of public art in Major Taylor’s honor and a site cyclists come to visit. The goal is to preserve the mural as is, however if the plan to preserve the mural is not feasible then the alternative is to replicate the mural on the wall. Stay tuned for more updates about the mural!
