We’re co-sponsoring Adult/Teen Learn to Ride biking classes with the Chicago Department of Transportation, Percy Julian High School, Chicago Park District, and Alder Ronnie Mosley.
Learn to Ride is a free program offered by CDOT where adults can learn to ride a bicycle. Last year, Learn To Ride took place at nearby Big Marsh Park. We also brought the Learn to Ride team to our Celebration Ride in September. We’re building on those efforts this year. These classes are part of an ongoing program by Chicago Transportation Department, here are the details:
- Classes will be offered in both English and Spanish, and pre-registered participants will receive a free helmet, while supplies last.
- Adults and teens aged 13–17 may participate (teens must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).
- Bicycles are available for all participants to use at no cost; however, students may benefit from practicing on a personal bike if they have one.
- Reservations are required for all classes and are granted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Walk-ins cannot be accommodated.
Classes are designed for all experience levels—from Chicagoans who have never ridden a bike to those who want to brush up on skills and gain confidence riding on the street. We hope to see you there!
