Dr. Brenda M. Dixon is joined by Dannielle McKinnie and Ojie Murchison, two avid and experienced bike riders and volunteers with Southside Critical Mass, to discuss the community rides they host and the importance of cycling clubs in communities.
The Southside Critical Mass community bike ride meets once a month on the first Friday at 5:45 p.m. at Nichols Park from April to November. These rides allow for people to come together and ride safely in a group with changing bike routes that give riders a chance to explore different parts of the Southside that are not shown on tv.
Their biggest ride of the year is approaching, the Wear Orange ride, which brings awareness to gun violence and is the official kickoff to wear orange weekend in June. Until then, you can join them for their May 3rd ride.
